Sierra Leone STAND Chapter was formed at Mount Aureol in 2004 and was called Fourah Bay College STAND chapter by a group of Amnesty International Sierra Leone Campaign Group students. This was born from the idea that the rebel war in Sierra Leone though ended reached a genocidal stage of symbolization before the British could interfere. As such through student exchange programmes with students in the United States of America this idea of STAND-Student Anti-Genocide Coalition was developed. They were supported by Amnesty International Sierra Leone and other human rights organizations to undertake most of their educational symposium and community outreach programmes. Today, we can boost of four senior schools with STAND clubs plus the original chapter making five.
