ARREST AND RELEASE OF SEVEN YOUTH BY SAF IN ROSERIES, SUDAN

On 25th August 2020, a group of SAF soldiers arrested seven youth from Ganees market in Roseries town of Blue Nile State. They were arrested because of attempting to conduct a public address meeting at the market, the arrest was before the start of the event. The arrested youth were detained at SAF headquarters in Roseries. During their detention, they were insulted, threatened and warned not to try it again otherwise they will be arrested and tortured. FOOD SECURITY AND AGRICULTURE; Household food stocks remain low

Harvesting of crops including fresh maize, lemons, chilies, cucumber and okra on Jibraka (near farms) continues and short-term sorghum, beans, groundnuts, sweet potatoes, yams and cassava will be harvested soon, and the cultivation of faraway farms also commenced. While it was reported that pests, such as millipedes and birds, affected crops mainly in Komo Ganza farmers have no pesticides to control pests.

TWO MURDER INCIDENTS IN ABU-KERSHOLA, SUDAN

On 26thJuly 2020 evening hours, a policeman by names of Mr.Badawi Eltahir Badawi (26 years old) was killed by unknown people near Muaaz Ibn Gabal Basic School at Abu-Kershola town. His dead body was taken to Au-Kershola health centre by community members. At the health centre, it was discovered that his body (the head in particular) was hit by sharp objects on his head. The dead body was later taken by relatives/ family for burial. The family/ relatives reported the murder case at AbuKershola police against anonymous.

MURDER OF JADALLA AND LOOTING OF HIS CATTLE IN ELFAID, SUDAN

On 29thJune 2020, while Mr. Ahmed Hassan Jadalla was grazing his cattle at Gardod Zaharaa, unknown people shot him dead and looted eight of his cows. When other herdsmen heard the gunshots, they run towards the scene only to find Mr. Jadalla dead and some of his cows missing. They took his body to Elfaid Um-Abdalla where he was buried by his family members as they have reported the murder case against anonymous at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police

MURDER OF A FARMER BY UNKNOWN PEOPLE IN DAMBA-KADOGLI, SUDAN

On 13thMay 2020, dead bodies of two brothers (herdsmen) were found near Khartoum Belail village of Blue Nile State. The two brothers were kidnapped by four armed men when they were grazing cattle in Amura jungle area. They were with their fellow herdsmen at the time of kidnap. A case was reported against anonymous.

Those who were kidnapped are Mr. Ramadan Hamid Eldaw (18 years) and Mr. Khamees Hamid Eldaw (20 years) and the two were selected because they belonged to Angasana tribe. Their fellow herdsmen from other tribes (falata and Arab) were left free. On 13th May 2020, the kidnapped men (Ramadan and Khamis) were found dead and their bodies were near Khartoum Belail village slaughtered

URGENT APPEAL: Miserable conditions of recently displaced people in Kadogli, Sudan

(21 May 2020) On 13th May 2020, armed RSF soldiers attacked Albardab village and killed nine (9) unarmed people, looted and burned down houses basing on ethnicity. As a result, more than two thousand people were displaced from their village. The displaced people have not received any humanitarian aid and are in a miserable state.

HUDO is still very concerned about the situation/ lives of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon the Sudan government, civil society and the international community to take urgent action.
