Sudan-Advocacy: Justice for Survivors of Sexual Assaults

Almost a year ago, on June 3, forces stormed the sit-in square in front of the General Command headquarters of the army and attacked unarmed protesters using live ammunition and batons, killing 127 according to the Central Committee of Sudan’ Doctors (CCSD), also, torturing, burning tents, and sexually violating protestors, according to CCSD, it was estimated that the paramilitary forces carried out more than 70 cases of rape during the attack at the sit-in; the Military Council set up a committee to investigate the events of the sit-in, and has denied any rape occurred.

The Sudanese Human Rights Group ( Huqouq), in cooperation with active working groups on GBV, documented the testimonies of rape survivors
